Manufacturing Apprentice x2

 

Duties may include the following:

  • Setting/programming of machinery/equipment
  • Productive running of machinery/equipment
  • Meeting standards of quality/ quality procedures
  • Achieving throughput/scheduling requirements
  • Ensuring equipment/work area is safe, clean and tidy
  • Assist in the development of equipment and process of ongoing improvement
  • Ensuring good communication and teamwork
  • Follow company policies and guidelines
  • To read and understand all work instructions, drawings and inspection procedures

 

The successful candidate should have: 

  • Good numeracy, literacy & IT skills
  • Good communication skills (Written and verbal)
  • Previous experience of working in an engineering/manufacturing/quality role is advantageous
  • Previous engineering further education is advantageous, but not essential
  • Attention to detail, methodical and reliable
 

Personal qualities:

  • Able to interact well with others and work as part of a team
  • Motivated and self-driven to work on occasion using own initiative
  • A genuine interest in mechanical engineering and a capacity to apply theoretical knowledge to practical applications and tasks
  • Innovative and wanting to find solutions for customers

Desired qualifications

  • Minimum of A Levels in maths and Physics (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of GCSE Grade 6(B)  in Maths, English and Science (or equivalent)

General Operator (Temp)

 

 

Day to day duties include: 

 

  • General support for the tool finishing cell
  • Packing and unpacking boxes to and from subcontract operations
  • Buffing tools
  • Grit blasting
  • Operating an automated super finishing machine
 

To be successful you need to:

  • Have good attention to detail
  • Be a team player, confident and enthusiastic 
 

Hours of work: AM and PM shifts (39 hours) Flexibility of working hours is essential.

General Operator – Milling

 

 

The successful candidate should have:

  • A strong CNC milling background (previous experience of Mori Seiki and Haas machines is desirable)
  • A good understanding of Fanuc control systems
  • Experience setting and operating is mandatory, programming is desirable
  • Be fully competent in reading and interpreting technical drawings
  • Experience working with tight tolerances
  • Experience on a variety of measuring equipment (micrometres, verniers and various gauges)
  • A flexible attitude to work
 

Hours of work: 3 shift system AM/PM/Nights (39 hours per week) you will be required to be flexible at all times, as you may also be required to work alternative shifts to include a 24/8 shift work pattern dependent on business demands.

 General Operator – Cylindrical Grinding

 

The successful candidate should have:

 

  • Good manual machining skills, especially previous experience of cylindrical grinding and surface grinding and any other types of grinding or fitting skills
  • Previous experience on Myford Cylindrical Grinding machines and Jones and Shipman Grinding machines would be useful
  • Good housekeeping skills and strict adherence to procedures/work instructions, particularly relating to accurate measurement will also be required for this role
  • Be fully competent in reading and interpreting technical drawings
  • Experience working with tight tolerances
  • Experience on a variety of measuring equipment (micrometres, verniers and various gauges)
  • A flexible attitude to work
 

 

Hours of work:  shift system AM/PM (39 hours per week) you will be required to be flexible at all times.

 General Operator – Centreless Grinding

 

The successful candidate should have:

 

  • Significant previous grinding experience ideally gained on both manual and CNC machines. Preferably centreless grinding, with other types of grinding being beneficial
  • Experience using Cincinnati grinding machines is desirable
  • Good housekeeping skills and strict adherence to procedures/work instructions, particularly relating to accurate measurement will also be required for this role
  • Due to the nature of the shifts the successful applicant must be capable of working unsupervised, be able to use their own initiative to solve problems and self motivated to meet the necessary targets on output and quality
  • Be fully competent in reading and interpreting technical drawings
  • Experience working with very tight tolerances
  • Experience on a variety of measuring equipment (micrometres, verniers and various gauges)
  • A flexible attitude to work
 

 

Hours of work:  shift system AM/PM/Nights (39 hours per week) you will be required to be flexible at all times.

Marketing Apprentice Job Role

 

This role is to ensure that the activities of the marketing plan are fulfilled on a timely basis under the supervision of the Marketing Coordinator. You will communicate and coordinate with all the marketing stakeholders (internal staff, agents, customers & suppliers) in order to efficiently deliver I Holland’s marketing to the global marketplace.

 

Principle Responsibilities:

  • To assist with the creation of marketing materials and supporting sales tools (printed and digital)
  • To ensure effective maintenance and distribution of marketing materials
  • To assist with the organisation and delivery of events, including attendance at exhibitions if deemed necessary
  • To liaise with agents, suppliers and partner organisations (PR, designers, printers, magazines, professional associations…) regarding all marketing activities
  • To maintain customer databases (CRM & Online Training)
  • To generate qualified leads using all our marketing tools
  • To facilitate internal communications within I Holland
  • To gather information about industry news and trends (market intelligence) and distribute it within the company
  • To monitor competition (actions, changes of strategy and tactics, strengths and weaknesses)

The successful candidate should have:

  • Good numeracy, literacy & IT skills
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Previous experience of working in an engineering/manufacturing/quality role is advantageous
  • Previous engineering further education is advantageous, but not essential
  • Attention to detail, methodical and reliable

 

Personal qualities:

  • An interest in science/technology/engineering would be beneficial

  • Is self-motivated and can work independently

Desired qualifications:

  • GCSE’s A*-C/9-4 in maths, English and ICT or equivalent
  • Marketing degree, marketing training or demonstrated equivalent professional experience in a B2B industrial organisation would be advantageous but not required
  • Prepared to undergo further training

 

Hours of work: Monday – Friday with an 8am start however there is some flexibility, exact working hours TBC
