When it comes to tablet compression tooling, sometimes it’s what you can’t see that costs you.
Small defects, wear and contamination can quickly develop into tablet quality issues, production interruptions and the need to replace tooling replacement if they’re not identified early. That’s why effective inspection remains one of the most important stages of any tooling maintenance programme.
To help manufacturers gain an even clearer view of tooling condition, I Holland has launched iNSPECT 3.0 IRIS (Rotary Imaging System) , the latest addition to the Assess range within the PharmaCare® 7-Step Maintenance Programme.
What makes iNSPECT 3.0 IRIS different is its ability to inspect tooling from every angle. With 360-degree oblique and direct viewing, users can rotate and examine punch and die surfaces in far greater detail, helping uncover defects that may be missed during conventional inspection methods.
With 4K ultra-high-definition imaging, HDR technology and a 20:1 optical zoom, iNSPECT 3.0, with or without IRIS, delivers exceptional image quality that makes it easier to identify wear, damage and contamination before they impact production. Whether inspecting a complete punch tip or zooming in on a specific feature, users can quickly switch between overview and detailed analysis.
Lighting also plays a critical role in inspection. That’s why iNSPECT 3.0 incorporates multiple illumination options, including quadrant ring, UV, panel and substage lighting. Different lighting configurations can reveal surface imperfections, textures and contaminants that may otherwise remain hidden, providing a more complete picture of tooling condition.
The system has been designed with usability in mind too. Auto-detect lenses simplify setup, while customisable inspection presets help create fast, repeatable inspection routines. Images can be easily captured, recorded and shared, supporting documentation and maintenance workflows across the organisation.
For manufacturers looking to improve defect detection and take a more proactive approach to tooling maintenance, IRIS offers a powerful new inspection solution that helps reduce production interruptions, extend tooling life and support consistent tablet quality.

Want Inspection Without Rotary Viewing?
For customers who do not require the advanced rotary viewing functionality offered by IRIS, I Holland offers iNSPECT 3.0 without IRIS, delivering the same reliable and effective tooling inspection for everyday maintenance requirements but without the rotary inspection capability.
Whether you choose iNSPECT 3.0 with or without IRIS, both systems are designed to help manufacturers make better maintenance decisions, improve tooling performance and get more from their PharmaCare® maintenance programme.
