Problem: The product being compressed was very abrasive, as multivitamins often are, due to the
unrefined and coarse granules. As such, the customer was experiencing issues of punch tip wear and chipping.

Solution: After assessing the situation , I Holland suggested the customer utilise our Resilient Surface
coating. We also supplied Tungsten Carbide (TC) dies. Both the RS coating and TC dies specially designed to offer increased resistance to abrasion and wear.

Success: The customer was happy with our solution and experienced no more broken tips and reported about a 3-5 times longer tooling life than the tooling supplied by the previous competitor.
